Former head coach of Poltava «Vorskla» Oleksandr Babich explained why he was dismissed from the Poltava team.
«I signed a contract for 2 years. I understood that I was joining a team with none of the previous squad remaining. I knew there would be setbacks. My task was to build the team by winter. Of course, not to be at the bottom and not let the top group get too far ahead. I believe we managed that, but the management lacked a little patience. Perhaps the last home defeat influenced our current discussion about terminating the contract.
Somewhere after the match with Inhulets, when the management didn’t listen to me, and we traveled to play a direct competitor on the day of the match, arriving an hour before the game. After that game, communication with the management was strained.
Right now, I am dealing with the contract termination, which I haven’t finalized yet. The team is coached by Kutsenko, but I still hold the active contract as the head coach,» said Babich in a quote by the Telegram channel UPL.TV.
