At the age of 86, the well-known Ukrainian football official and former Vice President of the Football Federation of Ukraine, Borys Voskresensky, has passed away. The president of 'Dynamo', Ihor Surkis, expressed his condolences on this occasion:
’With a heavy heart and deep sorrow, I received the news of the demise of Borys Voskresensky. Unfortunately, our football has suffered a great loss — a person who did so much for it has passed to a better world, contributing to its establishment, development, and flourishing, especially in the early years after Ukraine gained independence.
Borys Mykhailovych left a significant mark on Ukrainian football, not only caring for its sustainable development but also keeping up with modern trends. His contribution to preserving and improving the number one game in our country is hard to overestimate. He was at the origins of the modern football management system in Ukraine, participated in the formation of the national championship structure and the development of club infrastructure, and organized matches of the Ukrainian national team.
It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that Borys Voskresensky was an outstanding figure in domestic football and left a bright mark in its history.
My sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, and the entire football family of Kyiv’s 'Dynamo'. May the earth rest lightly upon him, and may his memory live in the hearts of those who knew, valued, and loved him. Fond memories of Borys Voskresensky will always remain with us.'
