Manchester United legend Paul Scholes questioned the effectiveness of the club’s transfer policy.
He highlighted the transfer of Rasmus Höjlund from Atalanta to Old Trafford in 2023:
— The team had Rasmus Höjlund, a 22-year-old guy who arrived when he was 20. United had only one central striker, and everything depended on him; he was under serious pressure and couldn’t cope. There should have been three to four central forwards. And what did they do this summer? They let him go and bought another, very similar player — Benjamin Šeško. He’s 22. He started strong, and it seems he’s getting better. Where’s the common sense in all of this?
