The head coach of Kyiv’s 'Dynamo' Oleksandr Shovkovskyi summed up his team’s match against Luhansk’s 'Zorya' (1:1) in the 9th round of the Ukrainian championship on the YouTube channel 'UPL TV'.
— What once again prevented your team from winning?
— First and foremost, we need to capitalize on the opportunities we have. We created enough moments to score. In the first half, and in the second.
— When the score was minimal, you reinforced the defensive midfield area with substitutions — Mykhailenko was on the field, and Brazhko came in. Was this done to prevent what happened in the final minutes? I mean the goal your team conceded.
— You can mean whatever you want. We made substitutions because by that time Pikhalenok and Voloshin were already 'running out of steam'. That’s why those substitutions were made.
— What led to the conceded goal?
— Let’s say, insufficient concentration at a certain stage. And, in my opinion, there should have been a referee’s whistle for a foul on Shola, when instead a throw-in was awarded in favor of 'Zorya'.
— Guerrero is not scoring again. After Vanat’s departure, he had a burst, and now there’s silence again...
— We end almost every training session with individual actions in critical situations. But, unfortunately, we lack the individual skill specifically in the decisive stage. Both Voloshin and Guerrero had great chances. Unfortunately, we don’t take advantage of these opportunities.
The moments that 'Zorya' created in the first half, we 'brought' upon ourselves. In the second half, a cross — a goal.
