Former FIFA referee explained why a penalty was not awarded against «Zoria» in the match with «Dynamo»

Former FIFA referee Myroslav Stupar commented on the work of the officiating crews in the matches of the 9th round of the Ukrainian Championship, which took place on October 19.

In the LNZ vs «Kolos» match, a controversial game moment occurred in the 40th minute when the ball hit the hand of a teammate in the penalty area after deflecting off the defender’s head. But since the hand was in a natural position and there was no movement towards the ball, referee Vitaliy Romanov did not react to this episode.

By the way, in the match of the 9th round «Zoria» — «Dynamo», the ball also hit the hand of the Luhansk defender Vantukh, but since it was a ricochet off his own knee, according to the rules, it is not punishable by a penalty.

In Cherkasy, a penalty was indeed awarded when the Kovalivka players brought down Prosper in the 75th minute, who masterfully executed the «sentence». No questions for Romanov here.

In the match «Veres» — «Oleksandriya», I would like to note the actions of referee Sofiya Prychyna. In the attack that ended with a goal for the visitors, she took into account the advantage rule and did not stop the game when a «citizen» player broke the rules in the center of the field.

And finally, about the disallowed goal in the match «Karpaty» — «Epicenter», when the home team’s midfielder Chachua, being offside, interfered with the Podoliany keeper in reacting to the Lviv player’s shot. Referee Yevhen Tsybulko made the right decision after reviewing the video footage," Stupar said.
