«Is there a passing culture at „Dynamo“?» — expert opinion

Renowned expert Vsevolod Kevlich shared his impressions of Dynamo Kyiv’s game in Turkey against Samsunspor in the second round of the Conference League.

«Let me warn you right away: I am not comparing today’s „Dynamo“ with „Liverpool.“ These are worlds apart. I am only concerned that a once serious, ambitious club is becoming a true laughingstock in Europe.

The main reason, in my view, is the lack of the necessary level of intelligence in the club. I’m not even talking about the playing style. Impressionists were also artists. But… is there a passing culture in the team? Who has a command of — let alone a long pass — even a medium one? The goalkeeper doesn’t command the defense at all. It feels like he’s separate, and the defenders are separate.

If people don’t want to and can’t succeed — that’s unfortunate. But they want to and can’t! That’s hopelessness. I won’t even mention positional coherence. Consistency in attack — that’s zero shots per half. Everyone is afraid to take responsibility, to show initiative. The main thing is that the mistake isn’t mine.

Igor Mikhailovich once said that it’s better to win in the Europa League than to lose in the Champions League. Now — the Conference League. Better to win here than in the Europa League. But no! We urgently need to come up with another League. Because even here we can’t — not even hit the goal.

Almost 40 years ago, „Dynamo“ in Turkey crushed „Besiktas“ with a score of 5:0. Now it’s not even „Besiktas“ that crushes „Dynamo“ without a chance. Different times… logistics… women… tattoos… social media… they’ve led to this sorry state,» he wrote on Facebook.
