On Wednesday, October 29, a real football fairy tale unfolded at the Valeriy Lobanovskyi Dynamo Stadium. Dynamo organized a football celebration during the 1/8 finals of the Ukrainian Cup match against Shakhtar Donetsk — and this event will be remembered for a long time.
For the first time in a long while, the stands of the legendary arena gathered over four thousand fans. Kyiv once again felt that special derby energy, where every song, every shout, and every flag is filled with love for the club.
Before the game started, a special guest performed at the stadium — Sean Fuller, a U. S. Marine who defended Ukraine as part of the 503rd Independent Marine Battalion. Sean, born in Texas on December 5, 1988, has been living in Ukraine since 2018 with his Ukrainian wife and daughter. For him, our country has become a second home — and it is for this country that he chose to fight.
In October 2023, while on a combat mission, Sean sustained a severe injury and lost his arm. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation with the Titan Fund and is finding new strength in creativity — performing as DJ Shon in the Titanium Beats project. His music is a story of courage, recovery, and belief in oneself.
Also that evening, the Ukrainian National Anthem was performed by the legendary Verovka Choir, and the first kick of the ball was made by Myroslav Rubtsov — the son of Dynamo fan Oleksiy «Soldat» Rubtsov, who gave his life defending Ukraine on the front lines.
The fans created that long-forgotten, yet so familiar atmosphere of a true derby — with songs, flags, and boundless faith in the team.
Thank you to everyone who was with us that evening. We love and appreciate every fan and, of course, look forward to the next matches!
