Mykola Morozyuk: «I turned from Maksimov’s best friend into his biggest enemy»

Former Dynamo football player Mykola Morozyuk shared memories of working in various clubs under the leadership of Yuriy Maksimov.

Mykola Morozyuk

— You played in three teams under Maksimov.

— F*** your m****.

— With him, you could probably learn psychology.

— What kind?

— He’s a psychologist, God bless. The psychology of a winner.

— He’s simply a fantastic psychologist. Lost a game, f***, and immediately it’s like: «You, you, you, you — guilty. You, you, you, you — okay, pause until the next game.» And that’s it, he’s in mourning for a week, f***, pale.

I worked with him at Obolon, Kryvbas, and Donetsk’s Metalurh. Cool coach, in my opinion, at the beginning, but I turned from his best friend into his biggest enemy, and we parted not very well.

But I hold no grudges. In my opinion, he was an extremely promising, talented coach. At the time when I started with him, he was just beginning his path in professional football, in big football. Now he is such an experienced one.

And I think that these moments prevented him from reaching the top level — this mourning and hasty conclusions about some moments when his team lost.

— In short, an impulsive guy?

— Hell yeah, very impulsive.

— Did he give slaps?

— Not to me personally, but we had such moments when parting ways, let’s say.

— Did he squeeze your hand too hard or what?

— Well, yes, you could say, not in the right place.
