As reported by Sport.ua, the player of English «Nottingham Forest» and the Ukrainian national team Oleksandr Zinchenko will not help the national team in the decisive qualifying matches for the World Cup 2026 against Iceland and France.
The coaching staff led by Serhiy Rebrov decided not to call Oleksandr and give him an opportunity to recover from his injury. Initially, it was planned to call the player up for examinations in the Ukrainian national team ranks, but later this idea was abandoned.
Recall that Oleksandr Zinchenko suffered a groin injury at the end of the first half of the Europa League match against Porto (2:0), which took place on October 23.
