Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi suffered a severe injury in the main round match of the Champions League against Bayern, which took place yesterday, November 4.
At the end of the first half, Hakimi went for a dribble, bypassing Bayern midfielder Luis Diaz. The Colombian, having lost the challenge, decided to jump from behind with a two-footed tackle, resulting in the opponent’s injury. The PSG player, with tears in his eyes, managed to leave the field with the help of medical staff.
Interestingly, the main referee of the match, Maurizio Mariani, initially showed Diaz only a warning, but after the VAR system’s intervention, he changed his decision, showing a direct red card.
It’s worth noting that Bayern managed to maintain a narrow victory in the end — 2:1.
