The youth team defender of 'Dynamo', the author of the second goal against 'Brommapojkarna' in the return match of the UEFA Youth League Nazar Ivaskiv shared his impressions of the match.
— It was a very tough game, but we expected that. When we entered the match, we understood that it wouldn’t be easy. In any case, we had to win, which we did, and we moved forward.
— After the first game, the Swedes threatened that they would have an advantage on the artificial turf. But it turned out differently. Did these threats motivate the team?
— Simply, they have been training on artificial turf their entire lives, and we are used to natural grass, so they thought it would be difficult for us. But it didn’t turn out the way they thought. They watered it, hoping they would 'chase' us. But it didn’t help them, we showed character, rallied and won.
— Was your goal a practiced combination? Or was it a cross?
— Just yesterday, we practiced this in training, and I scored two similar goals. So we didn’t invent anything new. Vanya passed to me, and I struck, not crossed. Just like in training the day before, I kicked, and also in the game. I saw that the goalkeeper anticipated.
— When the opponent scored in the final minutes, was there any tension or was everything under control?
— Of course, there was tension because if they score another, then it’s 2:2 and unknown what would happen next. But we didn’t let them score again, and defended very well.
— The UEFA Youth League is a new tournament for you. Is there additional motivation?
— You can feel it when you move from U17 to U19. It’s a new level. The demands are different here, you have to work more. It’s harder here, the speed is very different. But the guys support and encourage you.
