Ukrainian coach Yuri Gura, known for his work as the coach of «Alexandria», shared his thoughts on the defeat of Kyiv «Dynamo» by Cherkasy LNЗ (0:1) in the 12th round of the Ukrainian championship and the current standings situation.
«I like LNЗ for their playing style. Physically, this team looks good: sometimes it seems like their players can run for three halves. And tactically, the Cherkasy team does everything correctly. It was evident that Vitaliy Ponomaryov wanted to play offensively. In all the matches that LNЗ played in this way, they didn’t collect enough points. But when they started playing defensively, on counterattacks, the results began to show. If the Cherkasy team continues to play confidently, they might even reach the podium.
Can „Dynamo“ catch up with „Shakhtar“ (currently, Kyiv is trailing Donetsk by 7 points in the UPL standings — ed.)? It will be difficult. The „Miners“ have gained momentum, while „Dynamo“ is going through tough times now. The Kyiv team has lost so many unnecessary points that it will be very difficult to make up for the lost ground,» — said Gura.
