Enzo Maresca wants to sign another central midfielder

Head coach of Chelsea, Enzo Maresca, wants to acquire a midfielder in the winter transfer window, TEAMtalk reports.

According to the source, his priority option is Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace, but this transfer looks extremely difficult and expensive. A more realistic target for Chelsea could be Nico Paz from Como, and the Blues also have an interest in Kobbie Mainoo from Manchester United.

At the moment, Chelsea is experiencing some personnel shortages in the center of the field due to injuries to Dario Essugo and Romeo Lavia, while Enzo Fernández is forced to play through pain.
