As a result of the matches on the final, 6th round of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup qualifying tournament, held last Monday, the national teams of Germany and the Netherlands secured their places in the final part of the World Cup.
The German national team won group «A», where their opponents were Slovakia, Northern Ireland, and Luxembourg, while the Dutch team finished first in group «G», outperforming Poland, Finland, Malta, and Lithuania.
Today, the last five direct tickets to the World Cup from Europe will be contested.
In total, as of today, the names of 34 participants of the 2026 World Cup are known, where, as a reminder, 48 national teams will compete.
Europe (7/16): England, France, Croatia, Portugal, Norway.
Africa (9/9): Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Ghana, Algeria, Cape Verde, South Africa, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire.
Asia (8/8): Japan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Jordan, South Korea, Australia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia.
South America (6/6): Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Uruguay, Colombia, Paraguay.
North America (3/6): USA, Canada, Mexico.
Oceania (1/1): New Zealand.
In addition, two more national teams will qualify for the World Cup based on the results of the intercontinental play-off.
Recall that the 2026 World Cup will be held in the USA (11 cities), Mexico (3), and Canada (2) from June 11 to July 19 of the following year.
