The Ukrainian national team may play the 2026 World Cup qualifying playoff match against Sweden in Spain

One option for where the Ukrainian national team could hold the home match of the 2026 World Cup qualification playoff round is the Spanish city of Murcia.

Stadium in Murcia

It’s a lucky place for Serhiy Rebrov’s team, as they defeated Belgium here in the Nations League this year, writes Sport.ua.

If they win against the Scandinavians in Murcia at the end of March, the playoff final with the winner of the Poland vs. Albania pair could also be hosted there. This would help avoid issues with logistics and recovery, and allow for quality preparation for the decisive matches.

Options for holding these matches in Germany and Moldova are also being considered, but the final decision will rest with Serhiy Rebrov.

Ukraine will play the semifinal match on March 26. In the event of a victory, Serhiy Rebrov’s team will compete for a World Cup spot against the winner of the Poland vs. Albania pair on March 31.
