This past weekend, matches of the 17th round of the current season’s First League were played, and at the beginning of the second half of the championship, a list of the main favorites for promotion to the UPL next season is clearly visible — there are currently five of them.
Let’s recall that according to the regulations, the teams that finish in first and second places in the First League will receive direct tickets to the elite division, while the third and fourth teams will fight for promotion in playoffs against the 13th and 14th teams of the UPL.
Currently, the most confident team in the current First League championship is Chernivtsi’s «Bukovyna,» which leads alone with a 7-point gap from the second place, where Odessa’s «Chornomorets» is now. The «Sailors,» in turn, have recently lost their advantage over the third and fourth positions of the standings — here, it seems, all their battle with «Left Bank» and «Inhulets» lies ahead. Finally, «Ahrobiznes» has every chance to break into the top four, being three points behind it.
