Monaco midfielder Paul Pogba played for the first time in the last two years after being suspended for anti-doping rule violations. This happened in the French Championship match against Rennes (1:4).
Pogba came on as a substitute at the end of the encounter, replacing Koulibaly. The stadium greeted the Frenchman with applause.
«Football hasn’t ended for me. I worked hard, waited more than two years to return to the field. It finally happened. I was deeply moved when the crowd stood and applauded me. Honestly, I didn’t expect this. A huge thank you to all the fans for their support,» Pogba was quoted by ESPN as saying.
