According to the Bombardier Telegram channel citing B-One, Mavididi has expressed readiness to change his football citizenship and wants to play for the DR Congo national team.

According to his family, the 27-year-old player, who previously played for England’s youth teams, is now waiting for a call from the Congolese coach to join their national team.

Mavididi only remembered his roots and this opportunity after DR Congo overcame: a tough 10-match group stage with Senegal, defeated Cameroon in the semi-final playoffs, and won in a dramatic playoff final against the star-studded Nigeria team.

Now, to reach the World Cup 2026, the 'Leopards' need to defeat the winner of the New Caledonia vs Jamaica pair.
