Dynamo Kyiv U-19 midfielder Andrian Bekersky shared his expectations ahead of the first match of the 3rd round of Champions Path of the UEFA Youth League against Scotland’s Hibernian U-19.
— The team had its final training session before the game. What is the team’s mood, and at what stage of readiness are you?
— Everyone prepared very well, ready to give a fight. We are set on winning.
— The team trained on artificial turf, but the match will be played on natural grass. Did this affect the preparation?
— I don’t think it will make a difference. We are all under the same conditions. The field is level, the ball is round.
— How does the level of the UEFA Youth League differ from the championship?
— The level is significantly higher. It’s a kind of Champions League, but among youth teams. There are high objectives here.
— How was the adaptation in the youth team?
— The older guys, born in 2006, support the younger ones, as do the coaches.
— Your birthday is coming soon. Have you already made a wish?
— Yes, I wish for us to win tomorrow.
