This week the first matches of the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League are taking place. In one of them on Wednesday, July 20, Dynamo Kyiv and Turkish Fenerbahce met. The fight was nominally home for the Ukrainian team, but due to the war, it took place in Polish Lodz.

The first one went there with a certain advantage of Fenerbahce, but Dynamo did not allow the opponent to even dominate the game in a minimal way. Nevertheless, the events of the match took place more often in the half of the field of Kiev, and, accordingly, the chances were more often created by the Turks. The first of them arose in the 14th minute of the meeting, when, after a cross from the left flank at the far post, Valencia headed from the goalkeeper's corner exactly on target, but Buschan, demonstrating a brilliant reaction, managed to rescue Dynamo from a sure goal.
For the first time, the Kievans scored in the attack in the 27th minute of the match - it was Kendzera who made a diagonal pass to the Fenerbahce penalty area, and there Verbic hit the goal on touch - the ball flew near the post.
In the second half of the first half, the Turks created two more very dangerous chances at the Dynamo goal. First, Kahveji powerfully struck from 20 meters - Buschan hit the ball with his fists, not without effort. And then Fenerbahce's attack ended with the same Kahveci's kick from a lethal position - from five meters, but the ball hit King, who was nearby, and this saved Dynamo from big trouble. As a result, the teams went to the break with zeros on the scoreboard.
The beginning of the second half of the game was for Fenerbahce, however, Dynamo created the first chance after the break: in the 52nd minute of the meeting, Tsygankov, taking a free kick from the left flank, filed to the near post, where Popov, playing ahead of the game, hit his head in the fall from the goalkeeper's line, but the shot turned out to be inaccurate. You can also note Sidorchuk's prepared kick without any interference from the penalty area line, however, in this case, the ball did not hit the target.
In the future Fenerbahce, Dynamo controlled the ball more often, but did not create threats to Buschan's goal. But in the 71st minute of the match, Lucescu's wards were very close to a goal - it was Besedin who delivered a wonderful dribble kick from the penalty line, and the ball almost struck the Turkish team's goal post.
Fenerbahce, for the first time in the second half, created a scoring chance only in the 80th minute of the meeting, when Bruma hit the crossbar from outside the penalty area - Buschan hit the ball in a throw.
At the end of the meeting, it was felt that Dynamo no longer had enough strength, they began to gradually press against their goal. However, Fenerbahce failed to extract anything in its favor from this situation. In the end, the referee recorded a 0-0 draw as the result of the match.
We add that the second leg between Dynamo and Fenerbahce will take place next Wednesday, July 27, in Istanbul. The winner on the sum of two meetings will advance to the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League and play there with the Austrian Sturm, and the loser will continue to fight in the 3rd qualifying round of the Europa League, where he will compete with the Czech Slovacko.
