Today, August 12, marks the 99th anniversary of the country's main sports arena, NSC Olimpiyskiy.
The stadium was opened in 1923. Now Olimpiysky is a multifunctional sports arena for football matches and athletics competitions, cultural and entertainment and any other public events.
The stadium of the same name of the complex is the main sports arena of Ukraine and one of the largest stadiums in Europe. The renovated arena has the status of an elite category stadium and a capacity of 70,050 seats.
The football field of the NSC Olimpiyskiy hosted football matches of the 1980 Olympic Games, and in 2012 - 5 matches of Euro 2012 (including the final). In 2018, the stadium hosted the UEFA Champions League final.
