"We are furious! Russia must become a rogue state," Shakhtar's statement on UEFA's decision to broadcast Champions League matche

Donetsk Shakhtar issued a statement regarding UEFA's decision on the availability of TV broadcasts of the matches of the current Champions League on the territory of the aggressor country - a lapten-footed under-empire called "Russia". Recall that in the 2022/23 season, the Pitmen play in the Champions League, and thus their matches will be available for viewing on the territory of the Russian Federation.

“We are not satisfied with this decision. We are furious! The aggressor country must be isolated as much as possible.

Shakhtar is the only Ukrainian club playing in this Champions League. Since 2014, when the conflict with pro-Russian separatists began, the club has been playing outside of Donetsk and is doomed to wander. The outbreak of war aggravated the situation. Since then, Shakhtar has been playing outside of Ukraine.

We oppose not only the participation of Russian clubs in European competitions, but also call for Russia to be excluded from all international tournaments, including those under the auspices of UEFA and FIFA. The world sports community should finally unite on this issue and exclude Russia from all organizations and block its cooperation with sponsors. Especially when it comes to selling television rights.

We are not afraid that our matches will be watched in Russia. But we are for not showing international football there, especially the Champions League. Russia must become a rogue state while Ukrainians are dying at the hands of its soldiers, and in Europe it has unleashed a terrible war,” Shakhtar said in a statement to the Polish edition of Sportowe Fakty.
