The well-known journalist Igor Linnik, using the example of yesterday's match between Donetsk Shakhtar and Scottish Celtic (1:1) in the 2nd round of the Champions League group stage, touched on the causes of the problems occurring with Dynamo Kyiv, and which are already beginning to concern and " miners.
“According to its current functional state, Shakhtar should be satisfied with a draw with Celtic, and we should be happy with it. At the moment it was the maximum.
Now, by the way, it is clearer what is happening now with Dynamo Kyiv. It cost "the miner a little, two weeks in a row to fly and roam, and freshness, the reserve of strength for the game with the Scots was no longer enough. And Dynamo has been spending the 8th week in this mode! Let not in a row...
What is obviously the issue here? In a sedentary state, teams, even playing twice a week, can still recover, use the entire arsenal of modern rehabilitation procedures.
After all, where there is no war, planes fly, and this saves coaches and players a lot of time - the very time that they need for inter-game recovery. And you can’t move quickly by buses and even trains, which means you spend more time on the road...
Here the muscles of the football players are not fully restored, hence the injuries / damages have already begun. As confirmation - the operations of Shaparenko and Bushchan, and today's problems of Sudakov and Stepanenko from the same opera. So it's no coincidence that from the 60th minute Shakhtar thoroughly sat down in defense, from which they were able to run out into a meaningful counterattack only once.
Further, after the 2nd round of the European Cups, the club teams will have a pause - it's time for the Ukrainian national teams to play, but after all, they are represented mainly by Shakhtar and Dynamo. So the leaders of these teams will not see any rest, but at least it will be possible to lead them through a more or less full-fledged process of rehabilitation procedures.
And from October 1, the clubs are back on the wheels, and there, already in marathon mode, they endure until the start of the 2022 World Cup. One can only imagine with what functionality Shakhtar and Dynamo will approach the head-to-head match (mid-October). However, by that time they will already be in almost equal conditions, and not like today...
In the meantime, on the opening stretch, Shakhtar squeezed out of the situation, perhaps, everything they could. Both in the Champions League and in the Ukrainian championship. The club should be satisfied with the work of coach Igor Jovicevich. Plus, in my opinion, Darijo Srna made no less contribution to this success. Whose force majeure coming to the fore of the intra-club hierarchy, it turns out, from a professional point of view, justifies itself, ”Linnik wrote on his social Facebook page.
