Famous journalist Mykola Nesenyuk - about the defeat of Kyiv "Dynamo" against French "Renault" (1:2) in yesterday's match of the 3rd round of the group stage of the Europa League.
"Before every match of Dynamo Kyiv, you expect a football miracle. That's what Viktor Maslov, the first Dynamo coach I remember, once called a scored ball. So every game is an expectation of an interesting game, goals scored and, of course, victories. This does not always happen, but Dynamo has already taught us this over the years - victories must come! Even when there is no apparent reason for it.
Everything looked like this before the away match with Rennes. The protracted series of unsuccessful games, which began in August with the loss to Benfica, has been going on for the second month and there is no sign of improvement. But it can't always be like that! Therefore, the match with "Rennes" was expected as the one that would finally break the streak of failures.
Unfortunately, everything was the same as before. The game was almost an exact copy of the away confrontation with Fenerbahce in September. The same complete game advantage of the hosts. The same "Dynamo" half-attacks, which for some reason ended with a pass to their goalkeeper, the same senseless rolling of the ball near their own goal with the risk of making a mistake, which has already become the "calling card" of the current "Dynamo"... And in the end, a natural goal into our goal . And then a small miracle in the form of our ball in perhaps the only real sharp attack. And then again the same and as a result - a missed goal in the last minutes.
What is left? Nothing but waiting for a miracle. The same thing that Dubinchak, Besedin, Buyalskyi and Tsygankov created yesterday when they scored that one goal. A miracle will definitely happen, it can't not happen! Not today so tomorrow! And to those who do not believe in this, I will remind you that seven months ago we did not know at all what would happen to us. And now it turns out that we are, and even cheer for football!"
