Vasyl Rats: "Lucescu has already done everything that needed to be done at Dynamo"

Vasyl Rats, a former football player and coach of Dynamo Kyiv, assessed the team's performance in the first stage of the current season, before the defeat by Shakhtar (1:3).

— I sincerely believed that Dynamo would take advantage of the absence of Shakhtar's Brazilian legionnaires and take the lead at the start of the season. However, the beginning of the season showed that Shakhtar youth are stronger than Dynamo. Shakhtar has had a great start to the season both in Ukraine and on the international stage, surprisingly not losing to Real Madrid and picking up as many as five points in the Champions League. Now the owner of the Donetsk club realized: it is not worth spending a lot of money on expensive legionnaires, because young Ukrainians can also show quality football. Shakhtar players are very technical, physically strong, they press opponents in the other half of the field. Unfortunately, "Dynamo" players are currently impressive only with failures.

I believe that Mircea Lucescu should be fired from Dynamo. These footballers are capable of playing at least no worse than Shakhtar, but with this coach they will not show a game of this level. It is unlikely that Mircea Lucescu will be able to save the day. He did everything that needed to be done in previous seasons, leading Dynamo out of the crisis even without loud reinforcements. Next, the team should be managed by another specialist, whose task will be to catch up with Shakhtar in the standings, the Express newspaper quotes Rats as saying.
