In this game, Ihor Kostyuk could not count on the suspended center back Nazar Balaba, who received his fourth warning of the season in the previous game with another Kharkiv team, Metalist 1925. Instead, Anton Tsarenko and Samba Diallo, who did not participate in that match, returned to the starting line-up.
From the opening minutes, the "white and blue" made it clear to the guests that they would attack a lot and in a variety of ways. The people of Kharkiv maintained a fast pace of play, but the tension was mostly kept near the penalty area and the goal of "Metalista".
In the 18th minute, Dynamo opened the scoring in the game. The goal was led to a gross mistake by Kharkiv goalkeeper Mykola Yarosh, who unsuccessfully executed a free kick, rolling the ball onto a nearby teammate. The goalkeeper did not notice the movement of Anton Tsarenko, who quickly intercepted the ball on the line of the penalty area and sent it under the crossbar from 12 meters.
In ten minutes, Tsarenko and Diallo almost created a masterpiece: after Samba's pass, Anton sent the ball into the upper corner of the goal with a flying shot, but missed the target by a little bit.
Tsarenko had his third scoring opportunity ten minutes later, but at the last moment, ten meters from the goal, he was prevented from breaking through the goal by Daniel Vernattus, knocking the ball out for a corner. However, the Kharkiv team conceded immediately after the corner: after serving, the ball bounced to Yatsyk, who powerfully shot from the penalty area line - and the ball bounced off the defenders and ended up in the net.
The teams actively started the second half. Dynamo Kyiv had its moments after a corner and a penalty kick from the left flank, but at the beginning of the second half of the meeting, Kharkiv finally struck the first shot at the goal area.
However, in the 57th minute, the guests made their situation even more difficult by scoring a penalty in their own goal. In the corner of the penalty area, Navin Malysh was fouled against the rules, and the referee awarded a penalty. The 11-meter was performed by the victim himself, sending the ball over the goalkeeper, who rushed to the corner, with a soft kick.
In the 64th minute, the people of Kharkiv remained in the minority. Oleksiy Goryainov, by the way, the son of the famous goalkeeper of "Metalist", almost on the penalty line with a violation of the rules, stopped the dangerous pass of Samba Diallo. After receiving the "mustard", he began to argue very emotionally with the referee and immediately saw a red card in front of him.
In the 70th minute, Dynamo scored the fourth goal. Samba Diallo, one of the top scorers last season, scored his first goal of the season. "White and blue" intercepted the ball near the guests' penalty area, Tsarenko made a cut pass in the penalty area to Diallo, and he sent the ball into the bottom corner of the goal with a right-footed shot in one touch.
For the most part, Dynamo continued to dominate, trying to score the fifth ball. And in the end, he was scored by the most active player in this match, Samba Diallo, already in the compensated time, completing a solo pass with an accurate shot into the corner of the goal.
Having won a convincing victory in the last match of the first round, "Dynamo" strengthened its leadership in the number of points scored in the championship without taking into account the matches played.
