Former England striker Paul Merson has shared his thoughts on Manchester City's reliance on Erling Holland.
"Erling Holland is a striker to the core. In the first 20 minutes of the match against Chelsea, he was never in possession of the ball. City players are being told to look for Holland in the penalty area.
If Erling doesn't score, it becomes a problem for the team. Previously, the goals of the "townsmen" were distributed among all players, and it was incredible. Opponents will quickly analyze this and start playing Holland tighter,” Sportskeeda quoted Merson as saying.
In the English League Cup match, Josep Guardiola's men lost to Southampton (0:2). Holland was substituted in the 56th minute of the game.
