Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Mikkel Duelund, who is currently playing for the Dutch Nijmegen on loan, announced his intention to change the club.
“I feel that I need new challenges and I am working on more interesting opportunities to continue my career. While I don’t know how it will end, I have already asked the Nijmegen management for permission to change the club, because I just need a new start.
There are no problems with injuries, and I'm in good shape - too good not to play regularly for my team. That's football, even if it's disappointing. For example, it is difficult to be a loan player, because, of course, a club may prefer to bet on its players, rather than on loan, in order to end up making money on their sale. In this situation, players who can leave after the end of the loan fade into the background. I understand these mechanisms, but the main thing is that this is not an ideal situation for me.
The war in Ukraine made it impossible for me to return to Dynamo. So I stayed for one more season at Nijmegen. Now I want to play more and not exclude anything for myself. So I want to get out of here, try something new, ”bt.dk quoted Duelund as saying.
Let's add that Duelund will not return to Dynamo: his loan at Nijmegen is calculated until the end of the current season, which is when the Dane's contract with the Ukrainian club ends and he will receive the status of a free agent.
As for Duelund's performances for Nijmegen, this season the Dynamo player took part in only 14 matches of this team (in 9 cases, entering the field in the starting lineup), and he has one goal and two assists on his account. . It is noteworthy that Duelund scored all these three effective actions in one match.
