Last Wednesday there were matches of the quarterfinals of the French Cup. The main sensation occurred in the meeting between one of the leaders of the current French championship, Marseille, and Annecy, which plays in the second division of the country.
"Marseille managed to knock out PSG (2-1) in the previous round and few thought Annecy would be a problem for Provence. However, after opening the scoring on 29 minutes, Marseille conceded two goals in the opening six minutes of the second half and then only managed to restore the balance in the compensatory time, thus turning the struggle into a penalty shootout. Well, in the "soccer lottery" Annecy were luckier - 7:6, thus reaching the semifinals of the French Cup.
Ukrainian midfielder of Marseille Ruslan Malinovskyy took part in the match against Annecy. He started the game from the opening minutes, but did not reward any action. The Ukrainian was substituted halfway through the second half.
