Gareth Southgate, head coach of England, expressed his opinion about the upcoming match against Ukraine in the qualifying round match of Euro 2024.
"We will have to think about the choice of the squad. But we have to get a positive result at Wembley, because beating Italy will be weighty if we win on Sunday. That's what we told the players right after the game. On Monday they can go anywhere.
It will not be easy - Ukraine missed the first round. We will have a flight, recovery - some guys were injured. On Sunday we will need the biggest support at Wembley, which will give us an emotional lift. And if we can play like we did in the first half [against the Italians], the fans will love it. But we will be playing against a very strong team," the official UEFA website quoted Southgate as saying.
