Ukraine national team midfielder Ruslan Malinovsky, his wife Roxana and their three-year-old daughter Olivia visited Ukrainian refugees in the 7th district of Marseille, where he now plays for the local club, reports la Provence.
It was not the first such meeting between the player and his compatriots: while playing for the Italian Atalanta, Ruslan and his wife supported the Ukrainians in Bergamo.
- These are hard times, what is happening is not fair. It is important for us to help, and I hope that next time we will do even more. We want to help those who fled the war and who are going to live here for a long time. Being surrounded by Ukrainians in Marseille gives me satisfaction. Many of my compatriots have become Olimpic fans since they came to this city, - Ruslan said.
Among the presents which the Malinovskih family handed out to the compatriots were Ruslan's number 18 T-shirts and tickets for the match against Lorient on April 9.
