Yesterday, on April 20, Sevilla defeated Manchester United 3-0 in the second leg of the Europa League quarterfinals. Here are the post-match comments of the teams' coaches to the official UEFA website.
Jose Luis Mendilibar, Sevilla head coach: "We got out of an awkward situation in Manchester, where we played in a 2-2 draw without doing anything right, and people believed we could do it. In the end, we did. For us to win a game against Manchester United without a fight and with such strength, it's not easy.
What have I done for Sevilla? Simplicity, I think. I've been on a lot of teams at all levels. I started in regional soccer, and now we're in the semifinals of the Europa League with a good team. I don't complicate anything for anybody. It's above all simplicity, and that's the main thing in soccer."
Eric ten Hague, Manchester United head coach: "It's not about the players that weren't there, it's about the players on the field. They have to play, I believe in them and trust them, but they have to show it and they weren't good enough.
We've shown good soccer many times, but we weren't ready to play today. At this level, playing for Manchester United, you have to be ready for every match. It was a great opportunity to win something, but we missed it. We have only ourselves to blame. It's all gone, we can't change anything. We're looking forward to Sunday, it's the next opportunity."
тренер. И так будет всегда. А иначе - ему придется уйти или "его уйдут". Упустить так бездарно победу на своем поле против "Севильи", а на выезде - быть разгромленными? Такое в "МЮ" недопустимо....
