UEFA have issued an official statement regarding the chief referee of the 2022/2023 Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter, Szymon Marciniak.

UEFA and the entire football community are taking these allegations very seriously as we unequivocally reject the values promoted by the group associated with this conference. Yesterday we undertook to gather all relevant information and sought urgent clarification on the matter.
Following a thorough investigation, we received a statement from Mr Marciniak in which he expresses his deep apologies and provides clarification on his involvement in the event.
Based on the information provided, UEFA confirms that Marciniak will perform his role as referee for the 2023 Champions League final," UEFA said in a statement.
"I would like to express my deepest apologies for my involvement. I was misled and totally unaware of the true nature and affiliation of these events. I did not know that they were connected with the Polish far-right movement. If I had known about it, I would have refused," Marciniak said.
