At the start of the second half, Montpellier took to the pitch with renewed vigour and scored two quick goals. The first was scored by E. Vahy in the 54th minute, followed by another goal from A. Nordin in the 59th minute. Thanks to these two goals, Montpellier took the lead, while Reims struggled to get back into the game.
In the 64th minute, Montpellier made their first substitution: J. Ferry came on instead of L. Leroy, who had already received a yellow card. Moments later, they made another substitution: F. Maoussa came on instead of S. Mavidi. In the 66th minute, A. Nordin, who scored the second goal for Montpellier, also received a yellow card. Reims tried to get back into the game but in the 76th minute, E. Vahy scored his second goal of the match, further consolidating Montpellier's victory. Reims then made three quick substitutions: A. Flips replaced M. Diakhon, J. Cajuste replaced K. Doumbia and T. Focquet replaced M. Boucy. Montpellier also made two substitutions: E. Vahi was replaced by V. Germain in the 81st minute and T. Saint-Luce came on in place of T. Tamas. The last substitution of the match was made by Reims: A. Matusiwa replaced C. Sirhuis in the 89th minute. However, it was too late for Reims to get back into the game. The game ended 1-3 in favour of Montpellier. Overall, it was an exciting match for both teams, with Montpellier showing their superiority in the second half. Reims put in a good effort, but ultimately failed to win.
