Having made the final flight of their June training camp the day before, the Ukrainian national team started their first morning in Trnava on Sunday with stretching.
After long journeys, muscles lose their elasticity, so to relieve this muscle tone, the physical training coach always has a great set of exercises that relieve stress and make the player's body freer and ready for the next load. After that, the players had a theory session and then lunch.
On Sunday afternoon, it was quite hot in Trnava - the temperature rose to 27 degrees. When the team stepped onto the pitch of the Anton Malatinsky Stadium, where the Euro 2024 qualifier against Malta will take place today, the sun was just beginning to set. Therefore, the training took place in more comfortable weather conditions. By the way, the arena's pitch is in good condition, unlike the one in Skopje.
The pre-game training session began with a warm-up and continued with the traditional passing drills. However, it is worth noting that each time the coaching staff offers the players different passing drills.
The main part of the training session was to rehearse the tactical scheme that Serhii Rebrov chose for today's match against Malta. Traditionally, the session lasted one hour. At the end of the training session, there were shots on goal.
Before leaving the Anton Malatynskyi Stadium, the team took a photo on the pitch with the flag of the 127th separate territorial defence brigade. "Today, our soldiers undergoing rehabilitation after being wounded will be in the stands, as well as the wives of football fans who died at the front. Footballers always emphasise that they play for our country and our people with gratitude and attention to our defenders. They will go to the match today with this thought and feeling.
