Two of the four quarter-final matches of the Euro 2023 (U-21) tournament took place yesterday in Romania and Georgia.
In the first of the four games, Spain beat Switzerland 2-1 in extra time. In yesterday's other quarter-final, Georgia and Israel failed to score any goals in regulation or extra time. In the penalty shoot-out the Israelis were awarded a 4-3 victory.
Thus, Spain and Israel became the first semi-finalists of Euro 2023 (U-21). The Spanish youth team will play the winner of the France-Ukraine quarter-final, while the Israelis will face the winner of England-Portugal in the tournament's semi-final.
