At first, the Saudis possessed the ball more and more confidently. But the first Dynamo attack led to a goal. Popov gave the ball to Yarmolenko in his own half, Andriy passed to Tymchyk, who ran with the ball to the front line and precisely passed it back into the penalty area to Vitaliy Buyalskiy. The latter's shot into the far corner was accurate. 1:0.
Five minutes later, the same Buyalskyy tried to hit the goalkeeper's thrown goal with a long-range shot, but this time he missed. In the 20th minute, Yarmolenko's trademark shot lacked a little bit of accuracy - the ball hit the crossbar. Shaparenko broke the rules in front of his own penalty area, and after Ruben Neves' free kick the ball ricocheted, but Buschan was attentive. The teams approached the break with a noticeable advantage of Kyiv.
In the second half the nature of the game did not change: the teams took turns to combine, but the Bilo-Syni were a bit more accurate in the endgame of attacks. Thus, Voloshin from the left flag gave a precise pass to Benito, who shot for sure, with a cheek, but hit the post. The same Benito after a corner from the left jumped high in front of the near post and headed the ball into the far bottom corner. The ball flew very close to the goal.
After Mircea Lucescu gradually changed all the players of the "main" squad, the pace of the game did not change, but the accuracy of Dynamo's passes slightly "dropped", which affected the creation of chances at the opponent's goal. However, the winning result was preserved until the final whistle.
