Former Dynamo forward Oleksiy Shchebetun, now playing for Lithuanian club FA Siauliai, expressed his opinion about the ProStar agency.
Alexey Shchebetun- How did I end up in the Belarusian "Lucha"? After Dynamo I got a phone call from agents and was offered this option. Then I was morally depressed and was ready for everything, so I agreed without questions. I missed the first rounds due to injury, then the coach came to me and said: "I like your attitude, you will play".
I started to play consistently, but it was hard, the team was in last place and at the end of the championship scored only ten goals. I was not able to distinguish myself, although I had chances. "Luch" is a small club, there was no money. And here came a foreigner who didn`t score. It was decided to stop co-operation with me, and we cancelled the contract.
I started to call agents again, they promised me different teams. Time passes, the UPL has already started, and the first league, and in response - silence. I call Karpov, he does not pick up the phone. I called four times, but nobody answered me. People have gone into hiding. So Shabliy and ProStar just forgot about me.
I understand that I had bad stats and that's why it's hard to find a team, but you could have said it in a human way. It turned out that they just wasted my time, my contract with them was over, and they didn't even tell me anything - they just fed me promises. Afterwards, a person not from ProStar hinted to me that I should look for my own team. I realised, all the championships had already started, and I had a simple one.
Are Shabliy and ProStar good or evil for Ukrainian football? Not good - that's for sure. In Ukraine they are considered top agents, but if you look into it, they are great only for Yarmolenko, Malinovskiy, Mikolenko and other famous players. ProStar is waiting for some of the players to shoot up so that they can make money on them. They have about 500 clients, it is clear that they cannot pay attention to all of them and many of them simply forget about them, as it happened to me. But when one person completes almost all Ukrainian teams - it is not good, - said Shchebetun.
