Ukrainian midfielder Serhiy Hryn recalled the joint work at Mariupol with the maestro of domestic coaching Nikolay Pavlov.
Serhiy Hryn (photo: olimpik.com.ua)- Your first adult club was Mariupol, to which you went on loan at the start of the 2014/2015 season. How did this option appear?
- We played in the championship of youth squads against this team. I then successfully came on as a substitute for 30 minutes. I managed to give two goal assists and earn a penalty. After that match the agent told me that Nikolay Pavlov was interested in me and wants to see me at his place. That's how I found myself in Mariupol.
- How did your relationship with Mykola Pavlov work out?
- Good, I respect him very much and I am grateful to him for giving me a way into big football.
- Pavlov is famous for his heavy loads and strict discipline. Were you able to withstand it?
- Yes, it was hard in training, but in the championship then the team was "flying" on the field. As for discipline, at the base everyone was afraid to pass by his room to avoid being seen. He could yell normally. Everyone respected him and feared him in a good way.
