Oleg Fedorchuk: "I was horrified to find myself thinking that Aris had more attacks with ten men than Dynamo

Renowned Ukrainian coach Oleg Fedorchuk analysed Dynamo'svictory over Aris for theUkrainian Footballwebsite .

- Oleh Viktorovych, why is Dynamo struggling with teams like Greek mid-table Aris?

- If you compare the capabilities of Dynamo and Aris - financial and resource, European Cup experience, the cost of players on Transfermarkt - then on paper Dynamo is the undisputed favourite. But Aris came to these matches better prepared physically, despite the fact that both teams had played two games in the new season. Sad as it may sound, the Greek plan worked better than Dynamo's.

- Is Aris so strong or has Dynamo's level dropped so much?

- The two lines overlap. "Dynamo lost sharply, although there were prerequisites for the team to change before the season, but we didn't see anything new. There are problems in defence and in the organisation of the game. This suggests that the team is not balanced.

I was horrified to see that the Greeks had more attacks with ten men than Dynamo. Bushchan became a key figure, making three saves in extra time. This clearly shows that Aris came into the game more motivated and better prepared than Dynamo.

- And here the question arises - are the players, who cost more than every player on the opposing team, to blame?

- Or is it the coaching staff's failure to organise the work and prepare the team? These questions can be answered by someone who is close to the club or works at the club, or the training methodology does not match today's Dynamo.

What I didn't like in the first half was the poor performance of some of the most experienced players - Shaparenko, Vanat, Sydorchuk. Their "performance" just killed me. There are no words to describe how ineffective they were. The midfielders were dragging the game out. Before the conceded goal, the Greeks ran out on the counterattack three times. Everything was natural.

- Dynamo radiated more optimism in the pre-season than in official matches.

- There is a simple coaching secret: if a team trains to the limit, then it is harder for them to win in training camp, not easier. It is often deceptive when players don't work hard in training.

We understand that the team was preparing for the European Cups. To ensure ourselves a European autumn. After Aris, we received more questions about Dynamo's game than answers.

- What is the fundamental problem with Lucescu at the helm of Dynamo?

- We can see that the model that Lucescu offers is reminiscent of Shakhtar in Mircea's time with active wing-backs. It doesn't work with this set of players. There is virtually no reliability in defence. One-on-one, the Greeks were easy to beat. In two-on-two or three-on-three situations, problems begin.

There was panic in defence, especially in the last 15 minutes. The emotional level of Dynamo players exceeds the level of self-control. This applies to young players who cannot control themselves in stressful situations.

- Why did Dynamo sign players who either don't play or have left the team? Who will be responsible for signing Ramadani, Lonwijk and other players who have not only failed to strengthen the team, but weakened it?

- The one who signs the contracts is responsible for the result. The head coach always makes suggestions. The president has the final say. There is a sports director, a bunch of advisers in the box. Over the last 3-4 seasons, our memory doesn't even want to remember the newcomers to Dynamo who come and leave after a while.

Whereas at Shakhtar you can see the logic in bringing in pupils, at Dynamo it's hard to follow.

- Doesn't Dynamo have anyone to lead the team? Yarmolenko alone is definitely not enough.

- You can't link the performance of individual players to the overall picture. If there is a fast game from the defenders, the whole attacking group accelerates. If we see that the defenders are slow, the opponent has time to close the zones and then we have to play at a second pace.

Dubinchak and Tymchyk are capable of doing well in attack, but at the decisive moment they lack the courage to take over the game. The individual play of Syrota and Dyachuk also raises questions.

- Dynamo's next opponent on the way to the group stage of the LC is Besiktas, which invites big-name players. What can Dynamo use to get past the Turks?

- "Aris showed us how vulnerable Dynamo can be, and it may be easier to play defensively against Beşiktaş than to attack positively.
