The Referees Committee of the Ukrainian Football Association commented on the episode in the match of the 6th round of the Ukrainian Championship between Polissia and Obolon (2:0).
"90+2 minutes. Despite the fact that the referee is in the right position, he focuses his attention on the top of the contact between the players, who are both trying to jump up to play the ball with their heads. Obviously, because of this, the referee does not notice that the defender is clearly stepping on the foot, which is why the VAR correctly invites the referee to review and assess the situation, which was not seen on the pitch. The video shows a clear tackle (albeit unintentional) that prevents the attacker from jumping up to compete for the ball.
The referee, after watching the video, correctly awards a penalty and issues a yellow card to Moroz for the attack," the Referees' Committee commented.
