Ukrainian midfielder of Spanish "Girona" Viktor Tsygankov was injured during yesterday's match of his team with Real Madrid (0:3) in the 8th round of the Spanish championship.
The 25-year-old player started the match from the first minute, but was replaced at half-time. As it turned out, Tsygankov himself asked for a replacement because of painful sensations in the muscles of the leg.
The post-match examination revealed an injury: it is a muscle tear, he injured the back of the thigh, according to the TaToTake telegram channel. According to doctors' forecasts, Tsygankov will be out of the training process for two to three weeks. This means that he will not help the Ukraine national team in the next matches of the Euro 2024 qualifying cycle - against North Macedonia (14 October) and Malta (17 October).
The final diagnosis and timing of Tsygankov's recovery will be known today, after the player will undergo an MRI scan.
We would like to add that another Ukrainian legionnaire of Girona, striker Artem Dovbik, also came to the mentioned match against Real Madrid in the starting line-up of his team and was also replaced, but in the 60th minute of the game.
