FIFA president Gianni Infantino commented on Sunday's incident in the French championship, which led to the cancellation of the match between Marseille and Lyon.
"There is no place in football for violence, either on or off the pitch. Events such as those that took place in Marseille before the French Ligue 1 match between Marseille and Lyon should have no place in sport or society. I call on the relevant authorities to ensure that appropriate action is taken. In football, all players, coaches and fans, without exception, must be safe and enjoy our sport," Infantino wrote on social media.
