Former Chelsea midfielder Daniel Drinkwater spoke about his problems with alcohol during his time at the London club, as well as the moment when he decided to seek help for his addiction.

"In 2019, I was involved in a car accident while drunk. It was a wake-up call for me. I spent 23 hours in a cell trying to sober up. Sitting in that cell, I thought: "What the hell are you doing, mate?" It was then that I started to seek outside help.
I also enjoyed this lifestyle, using it as a kind of cover for all the other problems," the Daily Mail quotes Drinkwater as saying.
