Former Dynamo defender Vladyslav Vashchuk assessed the work of the team's head coach Mircea Lucescu and shared his expectations from the match of the 13th round of the Ukrainian Championship against Shakhtar.
Vladyslav Vashchuk-How would you comment on the current state of Dynamo?
- I do not even know how to comment. Somehow they are pouring on Dynamo - Dynamo is not ready, conflicts within the team, the coach with the players. I do not understand it, Dynamo has never had it. There were conflicts, but they did not come out like today. I do not understand when a coach has been in the club for many years and there are conflicts. Something is not right here.
- What do you think the Kyiv club lacks to return to its level?
- Everything Dynamo was famous for. The style of play has changed, and Dynamo does not play in the style in which they became Dynamo. Today it is not that Dynamo, because they cannot withstand the loads that they need to do to win all the matches.
- How would you assess Mircea Lucescu's work as a coach?
- No. I do not see his work. I see that he just does not need anything, he just solves something there at the expense of experience, so to speak, does something there. I don't see where he's taking it and what it's going to be. If you compare 12 years at Shakhtar, where he worked, and 12 years at Dynamo, it will be two European clubs with different style of play - but one coach. I do not understand how this is possible. So something has changed in football. I was in a different football.
- Do you believe that Dynamo will be able to beat Shakhtar?
- Look, I will root for Dynamo even when there are bad years, games. I will still root for Dynamo.
