Dynamo U-19 midfielder Roman Salenko shared his impressions of the home match against Shakhtar Donetsk and his team's 2-0 victory.
- What conclusions were drawn after the defeat to Kolos in the last round?
- We theorised, watched the replay of the match, discussed our mistakes, and drew conclusions. These were mostly defensive mistakes. This work paid off, and today we achieved a result.
- Do you always have a special mood when playing Shakhtar? Was it the key to victory?
- Of course it was. A lot of people always watch this match, because it is, so to speak, a classic of the youth league. Everyone wants to prove themselves even more. Everyone goes out on the field "charged".
- This is your second year with Dynamo U19. With the arrival of players born in 2006 and your own experience, has the team become even stronger this season?
- We are growing every day, no matter what. When we came and played for a year, there was a completely different team at the end. It's the same now. We are getting stronger with every match.
- Today you made an assist to Pashko. In that episode, did you need the help of the opposition defender?
- If he hadn't run, the defender could have just knocked the ball out. But Pashko made a certain action and scored.
- Another of your passes almost became a goal. Isn't it a shame that you didn't manage to convert it?
- Of course, it's a shame. I could have added one more assist to my asset. But everyone supported the player who missed the goal. And in general, there was support throughout the match.
- What is more enjoyable for you - making assists or scoring?
- Probably both. The feelings are the same. The whole team scores anyway.
- At the end of the match, there were some clashes. Were you already nervous about the "classic"?
- Yes, there were, emotions were running high. Everyone proves themselves in such clashes. I think the referee judged that episode fairly
- What did Ihor Kostiuk say after the match?
- He said that after such a difficult match there was nothing much to say. There were still mistakes. Now we will have a day off, and then we will analyse them and draw conclusions.
- Your father , a prominent Dynamo player, supports you at every match. How does he assess your game? Does he give you any tips, advice, comments?
- Lately, he has just been supporting me. That's enough for me. It is very pleasant and important for me.
