Shakhtar midfielder Taras Stepanenko commented on Mircea Lucescu's resignation after the victory over Dynamo (1-0).

The war did its job: many Dynamo legionnaires left. Mister is a man who likes to always win. He has a big responsibility now, he decided that enough is enough. The recent results pushed him to it.
This is football, this is life. I think all the guys are grateful to him. And I am very grateful for what he did for me. When my family left Ukraine, he helped us completely by himself in Bucharest, accommodated us so that the family was safe. He helped in any way he could.
I am very grateful to him, he is a very good man. I think Dinamo players understand it too. This is the coach's labour. Today - so, tomorrow - so," Stepanenko said.
