On Thursday, 7 December, the postponed match of the 3rd round of the Ukrainian championship season-2023/24, in which Dynamo Kyiv and Metalist 1925 Kharkiv met, took place. The match was held in Kyiv at the stadium "Dynamo" named after Valeriy Lobanovskiy.

The match started in an absolutely equal struggle. The guests tried not to concede to Dynamo, tried to attack at every opportunity and aggressively entered the ball. As a result, the game did not contain any chances. However, it did not prevent Dynamo from opening the score already on the 11th minute of the match: during the counterattack of "Bilo-Syni" Buyalskyi with an excellent pass brought Voloshyn one-on-one with Sidorenko on the right flank and he did not miss his chance, cold-bloodedly shot the ball between the legs of Metalist 1925 goalkeeper. - 1:0.

This goal changed the pattern of the game. Dynamo players began to play much more relaxed and the events of the match now almost continuously took place on the half of Kharkiv team's field. All this very quickly resulted in another goal of the capital team: on the 22nd minute of the game Buyalsky gave a pass to the advancing Shaparenko, he shot from 18 metres, Sidorenko managed to cope with this difficult shot, but kicked the ball right in front of him, and Voloshyn confidently played on the rebound - 2:0.

After that Dynamo continued to possess the advantage, made several rather dangerous blows on the opponent's goal, and it seemed that nothing for Shovkovskiy's team foreshadowed trouble. Nevertheless, in the 30th minute of the game the guests managed to narrow the gap in the score: Gabelok with an excellent diagonal pass delivered the ball to the left side of the penalty area to Dmitrenko and he hit the target with a shot from eight metres - 2:1.

However, Dynamo almost immediately scored a goal in response. At first, Buyalsky was close to success, but after his shot from the penalty line Sidorenko in a brilliant throw managed to reach the ball, which flew into the "nine" - a corner. But, as it turned out, the goalkeeper only delayed the capture of his goal for a few minutes: after a feed from the corner of the field Vanat at the near post won the fight in the air and with a clear shot from close range put the ball into the net - 3:1.

And on the 40th minute the task of "Dynamo" to achieve a winning result was made easier by the guests: Bychek got the second yellow card and Metalist 1925 was left in the minority. However, during the remaining time of the first half this score was not reflected on the scoreboard. Although, Voloshin had all the chances for this, but, shooting without interference from the corner of the goalkeeper's area, did not hit the goal.

The second half passed under the sign of full advantage of Dynamo. Kyiv team had opportunities to develop their success. Sirota shot dangerously from afar - close to the bar, Shaparenko shot from 10 metres without interference - over the goal. Finally, in the 65th minute of the match Brazhko shot dangerously - this time Metalist 1925 was saved by Sidorenko. And in the end, the ball flew into the opposite goal: in the 71st minute of the match as a result of counterattack of guests Remeniuk went one-on-one with Nescheret, out of the penalty area beat the goalkeeper and Kyiv team and made the score 3:2.

"Dynamo continued to attack and on the 79th minute marked another dangerous, but inaccurate shot - now Tsarenko, who shot from outside the penalty area and the ball almost hit the bar. But in the 90th minute of the match Dynamo still achieved their goal - it was Dyachuk who sent the ball from outside the goalkeeper's area to Metalist 1925 on a corner kick - 4:2, the victory of Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's team.

After the played matches Dynamo has 25 points and takes the 5th place in the championship standings, falling behind the leading Kryvbas by 8 points, but having three matches in reserve.

We would like to add that next Monday, on 11 December, Dynamo will play its final match of the Ukrainian championship of this year: within the 17th round of the championship the Bilo-Syni will host Obolon. This meeting will also take place at the stadium "Dynamo" named after Valeriy Lobanovskiy (kick-off - at 15:00).
