UAF officially announces the nomination of Andriy Shevchenko as a candidate for the presidency of the association

The UAF Executive Committee, on the basis of appeals from UAF members and in accordance with the Statute of the Ukrainian Football Association, approved the decision to hold an extraordinary XXVI UAF Congress on 25 January 2024 at the Football House (Kyiv, starting at 12:00).

The agenda of the Congress was also approved, one of the items on which is "On the election of the UAF President".

According to the charter, any legally capable person under the age of 70 who is a citizen of Ukraine and a delegate to the congress may be elected president of the UAF.

"A candidate for election as president of the UAF is proposed by any permanent member of the UAF and must have the minimum support of at least 1/3 of the permanent members of the UAF," the Charter of the Ukrainian Football Association states.

As of 12 December 2023, the administration of the Ukrainian Football Association received the minutes of the meetings of the governing bodies of 14 permanent members of the UAF. All of them nominated Andriy Mykolayovych Shevchenko (date of birth - 29.09.1976), winner of the 2004 Golden Ball, Hero of Ukraine, awarded the National Legend of Ukraine, for election as President of the UAF.

As you know, 27 organisations are permanent members of the UAF. Accordingly, nine of them make up 1/3 of the membership.

Members of the UAF who have submitted to the administration of the Ukrainian Football Association duly executed written decisions of their governing bodies on the nomination of Andriy Shevchenko as a candidate for election as President of the UAF:
