Oleg Dulub, the Belarusian mentor of Cherkasy LNZ Oleg Dulub told what he thinks about football without fans during the war in Ukraine, and also shared his impressions of Cherkasy.
"I do not have to separate the periods of my work in Ukraine, because I worked here already in 2016, when the country was occupied in Crimea and eastern regions. And now the war is full-scale.
Of course, working conditions in peacetime and wartime are different. The main drawback is the lack of fans in the stadiums. And this is diluting. I have clearly defined for myself that the fan is the soul of football. As the body is dead without the soul, so without fans football is dead.
Cherkassy? I do not know this city thoroughly yet. I got acquainted only with the central part of the city. I can say that I am very impressed by the beauty of Cherkasy. The city looks especially gorgeous in summer. The Dnipro embankment reminds me something of the Black Sea embankment in Odessa. When I saw the river, I was pleasantly surprised by its grandeur. The Dnieper is so wide that you can't even see the other bank. Someone told me that it is 12 kilometres wide here," UA-Football quoted Dulub as saying.
